Flavored Syrup

What you'll need:
· Flavoring
· Two cups sugar
· One cup water

Step 1
Decide what flavor you want to make your flavored syrup. Vanilla is a yummy option as is peppermint. You could also make a raspberry or chocolate gourmet coffee flavoring syrup. Anything that you can buy flavoring extract of is fair game. You can also use gourmet flavoring in other ways like on ice cream.

Step 2
Combine two cups of sugar and one cup of water in a saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and add 2 teaspoons of the flavoring of your choice. If you'd like your gourmet coffee flavoring syrup to have extra flavor, use a full tablespoon of the flavoring. Remember, you're boiling sugar, so never fill the pot more than halfway.

Step 3
Let the mixture thicken on medium heat. When it's relatively thick, remove it from the heat and let your gourmet flavored syrup cool a bit before putting it into a sterile container. A wide-mouthed glass mason jar works great.

Step 4
Keep your gourmet flavored syrup in the fridge for up to 30 days.
