Sourdough Tea Scones

Ingredients:
2 c flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c sugar 
1 stick unsalted butter, Cold
1 c mix ins (chocolate chips, blackberries, etc)
1/2 c sourdough starter
1/4 c heavy cream or 1/2 & 1/2
1 egg
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Topping:
2 Tbsp heavy cream or 1/2 & 1/2 for browning

In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Cut in butter using a fork or pastry blender.

Add the add-ins to dry ingredients.

Combine sourdough starter, cream, and egg in a separate bowl.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined, being careful not to over mix.

Shape into a 12″ circle, and cut into 8 equal slices.

Place in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. Brush with cream.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes until the edges start to turn golden.

Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
